The Swami had written to his Madras disciples on April 27, confirming his intention of embarking at Bombay, and not at Madras. Alasinga Perumal had therefore come all the way from Madras to see the Swami off to the West. So when his guru, accompanied by Jagmohanlal, reached Bombay from Khetri, Alasinga was at the station to meet them. (LSV 1.390)

A first class ticket had been bought for Swamiji on the Japan-bound P. and O. steamer Peninsular, Jagmohan maintaining that the guru of a Raja should travel like a Raja. From Japan to Vancouver he was booked in another steamer. Jagmohan seems to have made the arrangements through Thomas Cook and Son. Even after reaching America, the Swami for some time had his letters addressed to him in the United States care of these agents. (LSV 1.390)
