It is almost impossible to know how much help Swamiji was able to obtain for the work in India From individual donations, but very likely some of his wealthy and sympathetic friends contributed at least something to his cause. The following letter written by Mrs. Bagley's eldest married daughter to Swamiji after he had left Detroit the first time gives evidence of this and also that he was considering a return to India.
