The Swami Vere Kananda of India, the Brahmin monk who was in this country for the purpose of attending the parliament of religions at Chicago next month, arrived in Boston yesterday, in company with Mr. F. B. Sanborn of Concord. (ND 1.26)

In early hours of Wednesday, ship's captain gave Swamiji a coat for warmth. At 10:45 am, alongwith other eastbound passengers he boarded a train to cross Canada on Candian Pacific Railway. (ND 1.016)

The hotel charges were very high; indeed, he found that in America everything was expensive.
