In every man and in every animal, however weak or wicked, great or small, resides the same omnipresent, omniscient soul. The difference is not in the soul, but in the manifestation. Between me and the smallest animal, the difference is only in manifestation, but as a principle he is the same as I am, he is my brother, he has the same soul as I have. દરેકેદરેક વ્યક્તિમાં, પછી તે માણસ હોય કે પશુ, દુર્બળ હોય કે દુષ્ટ, મહાન હોય કે ક્ષુદ્ર, પણ એ જ સર્વવ્યાપી, સર્વજ્ઞ આત્મા બિરાજમાન છે. જે તફાવત છે તે આત્મામાં નથી, પણ તેની અભિવ્યક્તિમાં છે. ઝીણામાં ઝીણા જીવ અને મારી વચ્ચેનો તફાવત માત્ર અભિવ્યક્તિમાં જ છે; એક મૂળ તત્ત્વરૂપે તો જે હું છું તે જ તે છે; એ મારો ભાઈ છે, એને મારા જેવો જ આત્મા છે. प्रत्येक मनुष्य और प्रत्येक प्राणी में, वह चाहे जितना दुर्बल या दुष्ट, बड़ा या छोटा हो, वही सर्वव्यापी सर्वज्ञ आत्मा विराजमान है। अन्तर आत्मा में नहीं, उसकी बाह्य अभिव्यक्ति में है, पर सिद्धान्ततः वह और में एक ही है, वह मेरा भाई है, उसकी और मेरी आत्मा एक ही है। (विवेकानंद साहित्य V. 5 pg.24)
